What a view! This project was a great exercise in dealing with a compact front yard and challenging driveway arrangement. The l shape of the home and the curb cut location created an opportunity to play around with some more aggressive angles and concrete finishes for the driveway surface that turned out great and added to the modern style of the home. we still wanted to make space for some pockets of lawn for play, curb appeal and snow removal during winter months. Using the same rectilinear shapes from the driveway we created two patches on either side of the driveway. The lawn areas are separated from the culdesac by planted beds with grasses and shrubs for some visual division from the public space. As the trees and shrubs mature we are excited to see the space fill in and become more and more cozy. (Photos by Patrick Matrinez)
